Shipbuilding I Kursk

WANTED TO SALVAGE THE MOST Honoured

Project
For many etched in memory. In 2001, a consortium of two Dutch companies, Mammoet and Smit International, acquired the contract to salvage the nuclear submarine Kursk. Mammoet has developed a lifting system to lift the wreck from its position 100 meters below the surface of the Barents Sea.

Delivered work
The hoisting mechanism of Mammoet was placed on the Giant 4, a pontoon of Smit, which was normally used for the transportation of oil rigs. WANTED has been able to make a valuable contribution to the construction of the hoisting mechanism and can look back till this day to an honorable commitment of its technical staff.
